#SmartSet1P10S – How to Style a Tulle Midi Skirt
November 18, 2014
Hello again! It's November, which means it's time for my second look with Smart Set's 1 Piece 10 Styles project. If you didn't catch last month's outfit, you can check it out here. :) The featured item this month is the beautiful tulle midi skirt shown above. As soon as I saw it in store, I knew I had to do something ultra feminine and flowing!
I love, love, love the colour of this skirt. It's called "Peach Pearl" and is so feminine and soft. I can't get enough. That's why when I saw a matching pullover sweater, I decided to create an angelic monochromatic outfit.
The flowy skirt hits just above the ankle and features an easy-to-wear elasticized waistband. The skirt is nice and full, tapering out just the right amount to create a classic silhouette. The tulle isn't itchy like tulle can sometimes be, instead it's soft to the touch and falls really nicely.
The pullover sweater top has an adorable oversized bow on the back along with a cutout. Plus, it has a handful of silvery beads around the shoulder area so you could easily wear it sans scarf for a totally different but equally interesting look.
Since it's chilly and I love a layered look, I grabbed the soft knit eternity scarf in light grey. It has speckles of shimmery silver and incredibly silky feeling wool. It also comes in a mint cream colour - I think it would look awesome with the peach pearl shade too!
I wanted to add a bit of extra glimmer to the outfit without overdoing it. The dainty chandelier drop stone earrings in peach pearl, silver and mint cream add just the right amount of femme to the outfit. The shimmery white and gold bangle bracelet adds a little glitter to my wrist, too.
The tulle midi skirt would make a great piece for an office holiday party, fancy brunch or even new year's eve bash. There are loads of ways to dress it up or dress it down, so the possibilities are endless. Make sure to visit your nearest Smart Set store or head to their website to grab yours – it comes in black too!
